March at Hillel 818

March was a whirlwind of self-care and celebration amidst the storm known as midterms! At Hillel, we didn't just survive; we thrived during events like our Goat Party, where relaxation came in the form of a cuteness overload, to the vibrant Purim and Pride Week celebrations, every moment was filled with joy, connection, and unforgettable experiences. Keep reading to see more of what we did!

Outdoors Shabbat

While it might have rained, we brought the outdoorsy vibes indoors for this Shabbat! Camp style services and a camp movie night, a great way to kick off the weekend.

Goat Party!

Name a more fun way to take a break from studying for midterms than by cuddling and playing with baby goats!

Elections in Israel with Barak

USC Hillel’s Israel Fellow, Barak, came to teach us about how elections work in Israel. We even got to attempt to form our own government coalition, just like how the Israeli government does!

Budget Eats: A Taste of History

We traveled back in time and learned how to make Muğabbana (14th century cheese hand pies) and Tortino di Riso (baked tomato rice), a most tasty combination!

2nd Annual Purim Palooza

We kicked off Pride Week with a Purim carnival for the ages! We made our own cotton candy, designed masks, blazed through an obstacle course, wielded fire, and so much more.

Mix the Rainbow

It was an afternoon of mixing colors, from making rainbow hamantaschen to making acrylic pour art on canvases.

Drag Bingo

The delightful Aunt Shirley regaled us with the story of Purim and to play a few rounds of bingo!

Rainbow Shabbat

We wrapped up Pride Week and March with a colorful Shabbat filled with song, rainbow food, and some rainbow crafts.
